Questions
Do I pay anything now?
No. The trainer isn't open yet. Join the waitlist and you'll hear from me when early access opens. The plan you pick on the form just tells me what you'd buy.
Is it FAA-approved? Does it count toward my A&P hours?
No to both. Squawk Talk is a study and practice tool. It doesn't count toward mechanic experience under 14 CFR 65.77, and it doesn't replace hands-on time or your practical projects. Jobs are mapped to FAA-S-ACS-1 elements; that mapping is my own alignment.
Can I use it on the aircraft?
No. It's practice off the airplane. The aircraft and wiring are fictional, and real work follows the manufacturer's current maintenance data under 14 CFR 43.13.
Who counts as a student?
Anyone in a technical or engineering program: A&P, avionics, electronics, electrical, aerospace and similar. A school email or student ID is enough.
What does it run on?
A web browser on a laptop, tablet or phone. Nothing to install.
Why yearly instead of monthly?
Most people study hard for a few months around an exam, then come back now and then. A year, or three months for students, fits that better than a subscription you have to remember to cancel.
What is the founding lifetime plan?
$149 once for everything in Tech, for as long as Squawk Talk runs, plus a say in which levels get built next. It's only offered at launch, and spots are limited.
